Privacy Policy
Effective June 6, 2026. This page explains what DebateYou collects and why.
Information we collect
We may receive your Google account identifier, email address, profile image, public username, settings, debate content, reports, match results, device or network information, and service logs. Your Gmail address is not shown publicly by the app.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate users, run and score debates, maintain rankings, prevent abuse, investigate reports, provide support, secure the service, and understand product performance.
Public content
Public usernames, debate positions, arguments, and results may be visible to opponents or other users. Do not include real names, contact details, addresses, schools, workplaces, or other sensitive information.
Service providers
We use service providers for authentication, databases, hosting, and AI processing. They process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Debate content may be sent to an AI provider to generate responses and scores.
Retention and deletion
We retain data while needed to provide the service, enforce rules, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You can request account and data deletion from the Account page or Support. Some security records may be retained where legally permitted.
Your choices
You may use a guest identity for some features, change your public username, sign out, or request deletion. Privacy rights vary by location; contact Support to exercise an applicable access, correction, or deletion right.
