Community Guidelines

Debate hard. Treat people gently. These rules apply to arguments, usernames, rooms, reports, and every public interaction.

1. Debate ideas, not identities

Challenge claims, evidence, logic, and policy. Do not target someone for who they are or assume that a debate position describes their identity.

2. No abuse or dangerous conduct

  • No slurs, identity-based attacks, dehumanization, or sexual harassment.
  • No threats, encouragement of violence, intimidation, or celebration of real-world harm.
  • No sustained personal insults, targeted harassment, spam, or attempts to evade moderation.

3. Protect personal information

Do not post real names, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, schools, workplaces, account credentials, or identifying details about yourself or anyone else.

4. Scoring and enforcement

Insults and personal attacks sharply reduce the Civility score and cannot raise Persuasiveness. Content may be blocked or removed. Repeated or severe violations can result in a timeout or permanent ban. Users may report a message from a human debate.

5. Reporting

Use reports for genuine safety or rule concerns. Include enough context for review, but do not repeat private information in the report details. False, coordinated, or retaliatory reporting may itself lead to enforcement.
